The Cotroceni museum
The Cotroceni architectonic ensemble is hiding behind the surrounding park more than 3 centuries of Romanian history. The building of the palace began in the 17th century, during prince Serban Cantacuziono's ruling. From that period, the old Cotroceni Monastery, the cellar and several cells built in the local architectural style have been preserved until today.
The buildings have been extended in time, modified or adapted to modern requirements. The last important adjustments were made during the '80's.
You can view the virtual tour of the Cotroceni Museum in individual panoramic images or in Deval format. |

The Corvinesti castle
The Hunedoara city located into Poiana Ruscai Mountains, in Transilvania, is hosting the Corvinesti Castle, the only gothic castle preserved in Romania. During the last centuries the history of the city blended closely with that of the Corvin family, beginning with Iancu Corvin of Hunedoara, the founder of the medieval site, in the 14th century. The architectonic ensemble is created in late gothic style combined with Renaissance elements, being an example of fortified noble residence.
You can view the panoramas of the castle either as individual images or virtual tour of the castle in Deval or Java format. |

The Ancient church from Densus village
In the Hunedoara County , close to the Hateg town, there is a church in the Densus village, a weird site, in roman style, dated back in the XIII-th century. It is a small building, made of stones and plates, many of them being taken from the old roman fortress Sarmizegetusa Ulpia Traiana, located nearby. Inside the church there are four central pillars supported by big roman plates covered with inscriptions and bas-reliefs. The mural painting, which partially decorates the interior is dated in the first half of the XV-th century and is the creation of Stephen the House Painter, as confirmed by his signature found under the south-eastern window of the absis.
Panoramas from Densus: images from the outside, two inside panoramas, one from the central region the other in front of the altar.

The Istria citadel
Situated on the lake Sinoe's border, the Istria fortress is the first Greek colony on the Black Sea shore. Built during the second half of the VII-th century B.C., the place is the oldest settlement on Romanian territory and had a continuous activity for almost 1400 years.
The Istria fortress (or Histria, as it is named after the river Istros = Danube) was the most important commercial center on these shores of Pontus Euxinus, both during the Greek and Roman periods. The site was abandoned following barbarian invasions in VII-th century.
