Manastirea Horezu este situata in Judetul Valcea, orasul Horezu intr-o importanta zona cu traditii romanesti, foarte cunoscuta pentru mesterii olari. Manastirea a fost ridicata in secolul al 17-lea de domnitorul Constantin Brancoveanu. Complexul monahal a fost ridicat dupa tipicul manastirilor de la muntele Athos in stil arhitectural brancovenesc. Biserica este decorata cu ample picturi murale executate tot in secolul 17 de mesteri greci si romani. Catapeteasma este din lemn de tei sculptat si poleit.
Manastirea Horezu face parte din patrimoniul cultural mondial UNESCO. |

Muzeul Satului din Bucuresti adaposteste o colectie de peste 300 de locuinte, ateliere, anexe gospodaresti specific romanesti. Toate constructiile sunt originale, datand din secolul al 17-lea pana in secolul 20. Printre exponate se numara alaturi de casele specifice, o biserica de lemn din Maramures, o moara de vant din Dobrogea, un atelier de olarit traditional din Horezu si alte acareturi caracteristice locuintelor taranesti.
Situat intr-una din cele mai linistite zone din capitala -parcul Herastrau-Muzeul Etnografic in aer liber constituie o pagina de istorie romaneasca. |

Colt fortress
At the edge of the Retezat Mountains, on a rock peak, the Colt fortress is found. The site was built by the Candea's family from Rau de Mori (The Mills River), at the beginning of the 14-th century. The fortress had a defense role, being the most powerful principal fortress from Ardeal.
A forest path leads to the ruins; the walk takes about 30 minutes. The high location dominates the neighborhood and the view of the surrounding valleys is overwhelming. |

The Oltetului Quays and Polovragi cave
On the road between Ramnicu Vilcea and Tg. Jiu one has the opportunity to visit the Polovragi cave located in the Oltetului Quays. The quays are very narrow, with abrupt walls dug in chalk-stone. The Oltet River splits the Capatanii Mountains to the East from the Parang Mountains to the West and digging the Polovragi cave during the old times.
